This is my exciting new sewing machine from my b'day. :)
I know how to stitch a little bit, but I still have to learn a little more about using it. :|

You are gonna love what you can do with a sewing machine! Of course, knowing how to hand stitch first is going to make learning to sew on a machine easier! Have fun!
